The feature rich family of electrical system monitors consists of the base model - PowerCube and advanced model - Saturn. The measurement capabilities of both the models are same. They have Comprehensive Measurement, trouble-free Installations & Connections, rich Data Logging & Communication, wide Control features.

Comprehensive Measurement:

  • All readings are True RMS measurements.
  • Fast, real-time cycle by cycle measurement, at 80 samples/cycle

Data Logging:

  • ON board 8 MB of Memory (2 MB in PowerCube).
  • Log all Min./Max Values.
  • Log all electrical parameters, real-time and integrated (energies and demands) and harmonics to get complete Energy system snap-Shot.
  • Events Logging 4 Events can be programmed by the user for parameter, high-low, time delay and value.

Communication:

PowerCube has 2 Ports. RS-485 for connection to SCADA/EMS and RS-232 for downloading of logged data including Min. /Max. Events.
Saturn has 3 Ports. RS-485 for connection to SCADA/EMS, USB 2.0 for downloading of logged data and an Ethernet Port with TCP/IP protocol support for connection with LAN/Internet.

CONTROL:

There are 10 relays output in Saturn and 12 in PowerCube, which are more than just relay outputs. These relays can be used for Alarm/ Trip function or for PF Correction operation.

In case the relays are programmed to operate for Alarm/ Trip functions, each relay is independently programmable for the parameter on which to operate, time delay before operation, and value for the operation to be triggered and release value.

Programming some relay to operate on present Demand value, a MD control scheme can be accomplished. In case of MD application, all relays can have independent operate and release limits. Thus in conjunction with the MD measurement in sliding window, fixed window or predictive modes, effective management of demand can be done.

In case of PF correction, user can select either standard FIFO or the intelligent VAR based mode. In VAR mode, capacitor bank sizes are sensed automatically by the unit through a function called Autosense.

Other Features:

User interface is via Touch Screen in Saturn and via Pushbutton Keys in PowerCube
Digital input (potential free contact), purpose of which can be selected at site. One is to have dual set-point operation in PF mode. Another is to have dual source Energy registration.

Graphics LC display 240 x 128 monochromes (B/W) in PowerCube and 320 x 240 colorful in Saturn. Graphical LCD makes it possible to display harmonic data in histogram waveforms of all voltages and currents.
